Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our WHMCS modules, licensing, and infrastructure.

Licensing

How does licensing work?

Each module is licensed per WHMCS installation on an annual basis. One license covers one WHMCS instance — you can sell to unlimited customers with no per-customer fees. Your license includes all updates and support for the duration of the subscription.

What happens when my license expires?

Licensed features will gracefully deactivate on the next daily validation check. Customer data remains untouched — nothing is deleted. Standard features of ImpulseMinio continue to work normally. Renewing reactivates all premium features immediately.

Can I move my license to a different server?

Yes. You can reissue your license to a new domain and IP address from your client area at any time. This is useful when migrating WHMCS to a new server or changing domains.

What's the difference between Standard and Licensed for ImpulseMinio?

The standard version includes everything you need to sell S3 storage: automated provisioning, bucket management, access keys, file browser, usage statistics, and full billing integration. The licensed version ($299/yr) unlocks static hosting with CDN, multi-region replication, cloud data migration, custom domains with Cloudflare SSL, and all future premium features.

Is there a trial or evaluation period?

A dev license is included with every purchase. It enables all premium features with restricted resource limits so you can test the full integration before going live. For ImpulseMinio, the standard version is fully functional without any license — you can evaluate the core module in production before purchasing.
Compatibility

Which versions of WHMCS are supported?

Both ImpulseMinio and ImpulseDB Postgres support WHMCS 8.x and 9.x. We test against each new release and ship compatibility updates. PHP 8.1 or higher is required.

Does it work with my WHMCS template?

Yes. The client area dashboard is built with Bootstrap 3 compatibility and tested with the Six template, Lagom theme, and custom templates. The module uses standard WHMCS Smarty rendering.

What infrastructure providers does ImpulseDB support?

ImpulseDB Postgres provisions databases on Vultr, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, and Linode. You can run different regions on different providers for optimal margins and coverage.

Can I use my own MinIO deployment?

Yes. ImpulseMinio works with any MinIO deployment — self-hosted, on Vultr VPS instances, or any other infrastructure. You provide the endpoint and credentials in WHMCS and the module handles the rest.
Installation & Setup

How do I install the module?

Download the zip, extract to modules/servers/, and configure your server connection in WHMCS admin. For the licensed version, place your license key file in the module directory. The entire process takes about 5 minutes.

Do I need to configure Cloudflare separately?

For custom domains in ImpulseMinio, you need a Cloudflare account with SSL for SaaS configured. The module handles the API integration — custom hostnames, DNS verification, and SSL provisioning are automated once you provide your API credentials.

How does database provisioning work?

When a customer orders a plan, ImpulseDB calls the provider API to create a VPS with a cloud-init template that installs PostgreSQL 16, configures SSL, sets up firewall rules, and schedules S3 backups. The entire process completes in under 5 minutes with zero manual intervention.

Can I offer both dedicated and shared databases?

Yes. ImpulseDB supports dedicated instances (one VPS per customer) and shared instances (multiple databases with PgBouncer pooling). You can offer both through separate WHMCS products.
Billing & Pricing

Are there any per-customer or usage fees?

No. Your annual license fee is the only cost. No per-customer charges, no per-transaction fees, no revenue sharing. You set your own pricing and keep 100% of the revenue.

What pricing can I charge my customers?

You set your own pricing entirely. The modules support flexible WHMCS configurable options — any combination of tiers, limits, and billing cycles. Most providers charge $5–$45/mo for storage and $19–$149/mo for managed databases.

How is renewal handled?

Licenses renew annually. You'll receive a renewal invoice 30 days before expiration. If you choose not to renew, premium features deactivate gracefully — customer data is never affected.
Support

What support is included?

Licensed customers receive ticket-based technical support covering installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Support is handled directly by the development team. Response times are typically within one business day.

Do you offer installation assistance?

Yes. Open a support ticket after purchasing and we'll walk you through the setup or handle the installation directly on your server.

Where can I request new features?

Visit our Feature Requests page to see the current roadmap, vote on planned features, and submit your own ideas. Licensed customers get priority consideration.

Is there documentation available?

Comprehensive documentation is available in our Knowledge Base, covering installation, configuration, product setup, troubleshooting, and API reference.
