Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of all services provided by Practical Objects, LLC (d/b/a Impulse Hosting). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. General Conduct

You agree to use Impulse Hosting services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not host, store, distribute, or transmit any of the following:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — Zero tolerance. Any account found hosting CSAM will be terminated immediately and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
• Content that promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or incites violence
• Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others (copyright, trademark, trade secret)
• Malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, or any software designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to systems
• Phishing pages or sites designed to fraudulently collect credentials or personal information
• Content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or constitutes hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
• Unlicensed pharmaceutical sales or controlled substance distribution
• Content that violates US export control laws (ITAR, EAR)

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not use Impulse Hosting services to:

• Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) — This includes bulk email, bulk SMS, and any form of unsolicited mass messaging. We enforce a zero-tolerance spam policy.
• Launch or facilitate DDoS attacks — Using our infrastructure as a source or amplifier for denial-of-service attacks.
• Conduct unauthorized port scanning or vulnerability testing — Scanning networks or systems you do not own or have explicit authorization to test.
• Operate open mail relays or open proxies
• Mine cryptocurrency on shared hosting plans — Cryptocurrency mining is prohibited on shared hosting, WordPress hosting, and WooCommerce hosting. Mining on VPS, bare metal, and GPU instances is permitted provided it does not violate other provisions of this AUP.
• Operate Tor exit nodes on shared hosting plans
• Circumvent resource limits — Attempting to bypass account quotas, storage limits, or bandwidth allocations through technical means.
• Resell services without authorization — Reselling Impulse Hosting services requires a reseller agreement. Contact us for details.

4. Resource Usage

4.1 Shared Hosting

Shared hosting plans are subject to fair-use resource limits. Processes that consume excessive CPU, memory, or I/O to the detriment of other customers on the same server may be throttled or suspended. Persistent resource abuse may require an upgrade to a VPS or dedicated server.

4.2 ImpulseDrive

Object storage usage is metered by storage consumed and bandwidth transferred. Excessive API request rates that impact service availability for other customers may be rate-limited.

4.3 VPS, Bare Metal & GPU

You are allocated dedicated resources as specified in your plan. You may use these resources without restriction, subject to the other provisions of this AUP. Network bandwidth is subject to the fair-use limits specified in your plan.

4.4 ImpulseDB (Postgres & Valkey)

Connection limits and resource allocations are determined by your plan tier. Long-running queries that impact shared infrastructure performance may be terminated. You are responsible for optimizing your queries and managing connection pooling.

5. DMCA & Copyright

Impulse Hosting respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content hosted on our platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent:

Your notice must include: identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material and its location, your contact information, a statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated in accordance with our repeat infringer policy.

6. Abuse Reporting

To report abuse of Impulse Hosting services, contact us at abuse@impulsehosting.com. Please include as much detail as possible, including IP addresses, URLs, timestamps, and description of the abuse.

7. Enforcement

Impulse Hosting reserves the right to take any of the following actions in response to AUP violations:

• Warning — Written notification of the violation with a request to remedy.
• Content removal — Removal of specific content that violates this AUP.
• Service suspension — Temporary suspension of your account or specific services.
• Immediate termination — Permanent termination without prior notice for severe violations (CSAM, active DDoS, law enforcement request).

The severity of the response will be proportional to the nature and impact of the violation. For non-severe violations, we will generally provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue before taking enforcement action.

8. Modifications

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least thirty (30) days before they take effect. Continued use of the services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
